Papakolea Green Sand Beach at Mahana Bay is great for swimming and a 2-mile walk from where you park unless you have a 4x4 vehicle. The sand is composed of olivine crystals from old volcanic eruptions and really is green!
Punalu`u Black Sand Beach is a swimming, snorkeling and picnicking spot where both honu and honu`ea (2 varieties of sea turtles) can be seen resting and sunning on the beach.

Honu'apo: 225 acres at Honu`apo were added to Whittington Beach Park in 2005 making it the largest county beach park in the state.
